CFOs named Jeff Bezos the businessman of the decade

The richest man on the planet Jeff Bezos became the businessman of the decade according to the financial directors of the world’s largest companies. The top three also include Alibaba founder Jack Ma and Tesla head Ilon Musk

CFOs of the world’s largest companies consider the richest man in the world, Amazon owner Jeff Bezos (#1 in the global ranking of billionaires; fortune as of March 2019 – $131 billion), as the businessman of the decade. A CNBC Global CFO Council poll conducted in late November and early December showed this. One-third of respondents voted for Bezos, CNBC reported.

According to the survey second place was taken by the founder of Chinese online retailer Alibaba Jack Ma (#1 in the ranking of Chinese billionaires, whose fortune – $ 38.2 billion), who resigned this year as head of the company. On the third line was the head of Tesla and SpaceX Ilon Musk (№ 40 in the global ranking of billionaires; fortune – $ 22.3 billion).

The survey also mentioned Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Apple CEO Tim Cook, investor Warren Buffett (#3 in the global billionaire ranking; $82.5 billion in wealth) and JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon (#1717 in the global billionaire ranking; $1.3 billion in wealth).

Amazon, which at first was engaged only in online sales of books, Bezos created in 1994. Over 25 years, it has grown into the world’s largest online retailer, which in addition to retail, also derives income from its activities in the field of cloud computing and artificial intelligence, CNBC notes.

CNBC Global CFO Council consists of 135 top managers of large companies in the world, the combined value of which is almost $5 trillion, including directors of companies from Russia. The poll was conducted from November 20 to December 3, with 55 participants. In the survey, they were asked to name the person who, in their opinion, is the most impressive business leader.
